The deadly auto-pedestrian collision in the 6700 block of Airline Drive about 10 p.m. on May 5.

Houston, TX – A male pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle on Airline Drive late Monday night in Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.

According to HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant Y. Ramirez, a 51-year-old woman was driving a black Chevrolet Tahoe southbound on Airline Drive. At the same time, a male in a wheelchair was crossing the street from east to west. The pedestrian was hit by the Tahoe.
The woman parked her vehicle in the nearest parking lot and contacted the authorities.
Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the pedestrian dead.
The identity of the male pedestrian was not released pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
