Akiya Jackson ID’d as Woman Killed in Balch Springs Pedestrian Accident at McKenzie Road and Pioneer Road
Balch Springs, Texas (November 10, 2018) – The woman who was struck and killed by a vehicle last week Friday in Balch Springs has been identified as Akiya Jackson, 17, according to a local news source.
The deadly wreck took place at an unspecified time Friday, November 2 near the intersection of McKenzie Road and Pioneer Road, authorities said.
According to police, Jackson was with a group of people walking along the side of McKenzie Road when the driver of an unspecified vehicle failed to take evasive action, hitting Jackson and at least one other person.
Jackson died at the scene. The other pedestrian sustained non-life threatening injuries.
No information regarding the driver involved in the crash was immediately provided.
The crash remains under investigation by police.
