Clifton, TX – One person was killed and six others were injured Thursday morning in a head-on collision northeast of Clifton, according to the Texas DPS.
The fatal collision happened around 6:00 a.m., on FM 219 near FM 3265.
DPS said a Ford Escape, possibly driven by an impaired driver, was heading northbound when it crossed into the southbound lane and slammed head-on into a Ford Expedition.
The driver of the Escape was taken to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Waco, where they later died. Their identity has not been released.
All six occupants of the Expedition were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Two of them were listed in critical condition.
No additional information was available.
The DPS is investigating the accident.
