Abdias Leyva Fatally Struck By Flying Tire on Peirce Elevated

Houston, Texas (June 7, 2017) – A 36-year-old man died Tuesday morning in a freak crash in Houston, according to a police report.
The accident took place just before 6:00 a.m. on Interstate 45/ Pierce Elevated.
Reportedly, Abdias Leyva had just dropped his father off at work and was on his way home when a wheel fell off a southbound Ford F-150, flew into the northbound lanes and crashed through the driver’s side of Leyva’s sport utility vehicle.
The driver of the F-150 stopped after realizing what had happened and cooperated with the police.
The incident remained under investigation.
