The HPD officer and both drivers were taken to the hospital for treatment

Houston, TX. – Three people were injured in a collision involving a Houston police officer on Friday morning near Hollister.
According to the police, the accident happened outbound lanes of the Highway 290 feeder road.
An HPD officer was performing a traffic stop on an 18-wheeler when the officer’s black Ford Fusion was rear-ended by another car. The impact of the collision pushed the Ford Fusion into the truck.
The officer and both drivers were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Several lanes of the US 290 feeder, including the left and right shoulders and three frontage road lanes, were shut as officers cleared the scene.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
