Amarillo, TX. – A West Plains High School student was injured after being struck by a car as she left school on Monday morning.
According to the Amarillo Police Department, the accident happened at Helium Road and Arden Road at around 8 a.m.
The student was leaving campus on foot and was struck by a vehicle in a crosswalk.
The student was seriously injured in the accident and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
The driver of the SUV was not injured.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
