Jayson Rhodes and Aniston Shaye Wirzberg hospitalized after a collision on SH 99 near U.S. 90

Dayton, TX. – One person was killed in a head-on collision on Friday night in Dayton.
The fatal collision happened on SH 99 just south of U.S. 90 at around 10:28 p.m., according to the Dayton Police Department.
A red Honda was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of SH 99 when it collided head-on with a black Kia.
A 31-year-old woman from Cleveland, Texas, was driving the Honda and was airlifted to Kingwood Hospital, where she later died.
The occupants of the Kia, 20-year-old Jayson Rhodes of Baytown and 19-year-old Aniston Shaye Wirzberg of Beach City, were transported to the hospital in critical condition.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
