The fatal collision took place around 1:00 p.m., June 27, at the intersection of FM 179 and US 380.

Lynn County, TX – One person was killed and another was injured Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision in Lynn County, according to the Texas DPS.
The fatal collision took place around 1:00 p.m., June 27, at the intersection of FM 179 and US 380.
DPS said Jonathan Torres, 29, of Lubbock, was driving a 2020 Chevrolet Express van northbound on FM 179 when he failed to stop at the intersection and struck a westbound 2020 Freightliner truck tractor that was towing a trailer.
Torres was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The driver of the Freightliner, Matthew Ulman, 61, of Temple, was taken to Lynn County Hospital District in Tahoka with minor injuries. He was also wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Weather was clear and road conditions were dry at the time of the accident.
The DPS is investigating the accident.
