Bowie County, TX – One person was killed on the Fourth of July in a two-vehicle collision in Bowie County, according to the Texas DPS.
The fatal collision happened around 2:13 p.m., on State Highway 8, north of New Boston.
DPS said a 2021 Dodge Charger was traveling southbound on the highway when it veered into the northbound lane, for unknown reasons, and hit a 1999 log truck Freightliner.
The Dodge driver, Kaden Allen, 19, of Texarkana, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in the Dodge, Lane Smith, 19, of Texarkana, refused medical treatment at the scene.
The log truck driver, Richie Delarosa, 29, of Mount Pleasant, Texas, was uninjured in the accident.
The troopers are investigating the accident.
