Corpus Christi, TX – A rider was critically injured Tuesday afternoon in a motorcycle accident in Corpus Christi, according to the authorities.

The accident happened around 3:22 p.m. on July 8 at the intersection of Weber Road and McArdle Road.

Authorities said a motor vehicle was traveling southbound on Weber Road and was attempting to make a left turn onto McArdle Road, on a flashing yellow arrow. At the same time, a motorcycle was traveling northbound in the left lane of Weber Road, on a green light.

The motor vehicle failed to yield the right of way while making the left turn and struck the motorcycle as it entered the intersection.

The rider was ejected and was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the motor vehicle remained at the scene and was cited for failing to yield the right of way while turning left. They were not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

The police are investigating the accident.
