The deadly accident happened around 11:25 a.m. on July 16 in the 4558 block of Ennis Street at the intersection of Texas Southern University driveway near the Columbia Tap Rail-Trail.

Houston, TX – A man was killed Wednesday morning in a scooter accident in Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.
The deadly accident happened around 11:25 a.m. on July 16 in the 4558 block of Ennis Street at the intersection of Texas Southern University driveway near the Columbia Tap Rail-Trail.
Police said a red Mazda CX5 was traveling southbound on the Texas Southern University driveway when an eastbound electric scooter, which was traveling at a high rate of speed, failed to yield the right of way from a stop sign at the intersection and was struck by the Mazda.
The scooter rider, a 70-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.
The Mazda driver remained at the scene, was not intoxicated, and was questioned and released.
The police are investigating the accident.
