A Peterbilt tractor-trailer was attempting to make a turn onto CR344 when it was struck by a Hyundai Santa Fe

Leon County, TX. – Two men were killed in a collision involving an 18-wheeler early Wednesday morning in Leon County.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened around 5:58 a.m. at FM 39 and CR 344.
A 1999 Peterbilt tractor-trailer was heading northbound on FM39 and was attempting to make a turn onto CR344 when a northbound 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe struck it and went underneath the trailer.
The sedan driver, 44-year-old Matthew Sovick, and the passenger, 49-year-old Christopher Gorman, both from Bryan, were pronounced dead at the scene.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
