Dallas, TX – The driver who was killed on Monday in a multi-vehicle collision involving a DART bus in Dallas has been identified as 42-year-old Jerrell Monte Mathis, according to the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The fatal collision happened around 12:30 p.m. on July 21 near the intersection of Plano Road and Miller Road.
Authorities said Mathis was driving a semi-truck when he lost consciousness or had a medical emergency and crashed into a Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) bus, another semi-truck, and a passenger car.
Seven people were taken to the hospital, where Mathis was pronounced dead. One of the other victims was listed in critical but stable condition. The other five victims are expected to be okay.
The authorities are conducting the investigation.

Dallas, TX. – One person was killed in a multi-vehicle accident involving a DART bus on Monday afternoon.
According to Dallas police, the accident happened around 12:25 p.m. at the intersection of Plano and Miller roads.
Dallas Fire-Rescue said the driver of a big rig lost consciousness and drove through the intersection and hitting another 18-wheeler. The driver then struck a box truck and a sedan.
Five people were taken to a local hospital, where one patient died.
The conditions of the four patients were not disclosed.
