Rusk, TX. – A motorcyclist was killed in a collision that left a passenger injured on Saturday afternoon near Rusk in Cherokee County.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened around 12:30 p.m. on Highway 69.
51-year-old Owen O’Neill was riding a motorcycle on the highway when he lost control and crashed.
Both O’Neill and his female passenger were ejected from the motorcycle across the inside lane and into the center median.
O’Neill was killed in the accident.
The passenger was injured in the accident and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
