Lubbock, TX – The man who was killed on Friday in a two-vehicle accident that left three other people injured in Lubbock has been identified as 36-year-old David Ramirez, according to the police.
The deadly accident happened on August 22 near the intersection of Marsha Sharp Freeway and Interstate 27.
Police said a car was traveling westbound in the 500 block of the Marsha Sharp Freeway access road when it collided with a tractor-trailer that was traveling southbound in the 200 block of the I-27 access road.
The force of the impact sent the car into a traffic light pole.
A passenger in the car, David Ramirez, was taken to University Medical Center, where he later died.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, 40-year-old Jared Armstrong, was uninjured in the accident.
The driver of the car, 33-year-old Devin Ramirez, sustained moderate injuries. Two other passengers, 33-year-old Lousina Guerrero and 17-year-old Davian Ramirez, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. They were not hospitalized.
The police are investigating the accident.

The collision happened around 11:43 p.m. on August 22 near the intersection of the Marsha Sharp Freeway and Interstate 27.
Police said the collision involved a passenger car and a semi-truck.
One person was taken to University Medical Center with serious injuries.
Three other people were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
