Amarillo, TX – The two riders who were killed Saturday night after their motorcycles collided in Amarillo have been identified as 50-year-old Shawn Michael Cernik and 47-year-old Tion James Williams, according to the police.
The deadly accident occurred around 8:00 p.m. on August 23 at the intersection of SE 3rd Avenue and S Lakeside Drive.
Police said two motorcycles were traveling eastbound on SE 3rd at a high rate of speed. One of them lost control and veered in front of the other.
The motorcycles collided, and both riders were ejected.
The riders, Cernik and Williams, were pronounced dead at the scene. They were not wearing their helmets at the time of the accident.
The police are investigating the accident.

Police said a 2014 Harley-Davidson lost control and veered in front of a 2016 Honda VT, causing the Honda to hit the Harley-Davidson.
Both riders were ejected from the motorcycles, and they were pronounced dead at the scene. Their names have not been released. Both were not wearing their helmets.
