Conroe, TX – A police officer was injured on Thursday in a motorcycle accident in Conroe, according to officials.
The accident happened on August 28 in the area of North Loop 336 and Interstate 45.
Officials said a deadly accident was reported in the northbound lanes of the North Freeway near West Santa Fe Street.
Conroe Officer J. Dugas was on a motorcycle, following other emergency units that were heading to the scene of the fatal accident. He was heading westbound on North Loop 336 when he was struck by a Ford F-150 at the intersection of I-45.
Dugas was ejected from his motorcycle, and the bike hit another vehicle.
The drivers of the other vehicles stayed at the scene and helped the officer.
Officer Dugas was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The authorities are investigating the accident.
