Rowlett, TX – A motorcyclist was killed on Sunday in a hit-and-run accident in Rowlett, according to the police.
The deadly accident occurred around 5:00 a.m. on September 7 in the westbound lanes of Interstate 30 just east of Dalrock Road.
Police said the collision involved a motorcycle and a car.
The motorcyclist, 24-year-old Marcus Davis of Forney, was ejected over the concrete guardrail into the eastbound lanes. He was taken to the hospital with major injuries, where he later died.
Two people in the car fled the scene, but drone officers later located them hiding in a nearby bush. They were both taken into custody. The driver, 27-year-old Wilmary Salazar Rodriguez, was charged with a collision involving death, while the passenger, 29-year-old Yunior Marin-Garcia, was charged with public intoxication and failure to report a felony.
The accident closed both the eastbound and the westbound lanes of the interstate.
The police are investigating the accident.
