Abilene, TX – A man was killed Wednesday evening in a rear-end collision in north Abilene, according to the police.
The deadly collision happened around 5:30 p.m. on September 10 on Interstate 20 near exit 292A.
Police said Bryan Newsom, 41, was driving a 2016 Toyota Camry eastbound on the interstate when he rear-ended a 2018 Freightliner box truck driven by Khua Ling, 56, of Dallas.
Witnesses said the Toyota was traveling at a high rate of speed before the accident.
Newsom was trapped in his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Speed was a factor in the accident.
No further information was available.
The Abilene Police Department’s Traffic Division is investigating the accident.
