Scurry County, TX – Two people were killed and two others were seriously injured Monday evening in a three-vehicle collision in Scurry County, according to the Texas DPS.
The fatal collision happened around 9:05 p.m. on September 22 on US 180.
DPS said an 18-wheeler was traveling westbound and was being followed by a second vehicle. A third vehicle was approaching from the eastbound side and was heading towards the other two vehicles.
For unknown reasons, the third vehicle swerved across the centerline and collided with the 18-wheeler and the second vehicle.
The driver of the second vehicle, Orlando Tello, 32, from Lamesa, and passenger Silvia Lemon, 59, from Lamesa, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and passenger of the third vehicle sustained serious injuries. Sid Rodriquez, 44, from Snyder, was taken to UMC Lubbock for treatment. Aleshia Lucero, 41, from Lubbock, was taken to Hendrick Medical Center.
The 18-wheeler driver was uninjured in the accident.
The DPS is investigating the accident.
