The deadly accident happened around 10:10 p.m. on September 22 in the 6120 block of South Loop East (South Interstate Highway 610).

Houston, TX – A 54-year-old man was killed Monday night in a pedestrian accident in Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.

The deadly accident happened around 10:10 p.m. on September 22 in the 6120 block of South Loop East (South Interstate Highway 610).

Police said the man was driving a white Infiniti QX60 on the highway when he struck the dividing wall between the westbound and eastbound lanes of the loop. The man then exited the vehicle, entered the roadway to pick up debris from his vehicle, and was struck by the left side mirror of a gray Jeep Renegade. He was knocked to the ground and was struck by a black GMC Sierra pickup truck.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

The Jeep driver and the GMC driver remained at the scene, did not show signs of intoxication, and were questioned and released.

The police are investigating the accident.
