La Salle County, TX – Two people were killed in a two-vehicle collision Monday afternoon in La Salle County, according to the Texas DPS.
The fatal collision occurred around 4:00 p.m. on September 22 on Interstate 35 near mile marker 55.
DPS said a white pickup truck rear-ended the trailer of a tractor-trailer. The impact caused the pickup to burst into flames that also partially engulfed the trailer.
Two people in the Ford were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not been released.
The driver of the semi-truck sustained minor injuries.
The DPS is investigating the accident.
