Barrientez Jr. was driving a GMC 3500 westbound on State Highway 158 when he crashed into the trailer of a Mack truck

Midland County, TX. – 46-year-old Daniel Barrientez Jr. has been identified as the man who died in a car accident on Tuesday morning in Midland County.
The fatal accident happened around 6 a.m. at the intersection of State Highway 158 and Farm-to-Market Road 1379, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Barrientez Jr. was driving a 2015 GMC 3500 westbound on State Highway 158 when he crashed into the trailer of a 2012 Mack CXU truck that was turning from a private drive into the left lane.
A short time later, a westbound 2000 Freightliner with a trailer operated by 43-year-old Yaikel Preito, of Round Rock, hit the disabled pickup truck.
Barrientez Jr., a resident of San Angelo, died at the accident scene.
Preito and the driver of the 2012 Mack CXU, 22-year-old Fernando Gonzalez, of Sonora, were unhurt.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
