Tatum, TX – A woman was injured last Tuesday in a two-vehicle collision involving a Panola County Sheriff in Tatum, according to the police.
The collision happened around 1:12 p.m. on September 23 at the intersection of Texas 149 and Texas 43.
Police said Panola County Sheriff Ronald “Cutter” Clinton was driving a Panola County Sheriff’s Office-issued pickup when he failed to stop at a stop sign on West Johnson Street. He entered the intersection and struck an SUV driven by Patricia Ann Schwartz.
Clinton told officers he did not see the SUV before the collision.
Schwartz was taken to a Longview hospital after reporting pain and discomfort.
Clinton was uninjured in the accident and was cited for running a stop sign.
The authorities are investigating the accident.
