The deadly accident happened around 8:00 p.m. on October 7 on State Highway 62 near County Road 826.

Jasper County, TX – A woman was struck and killed by an intoxicated driver Tuesday evening in Jasper County, according to the Texas DPS.
The deadly accident happened around 8:00 p.m. on October 7 on State Highway 62 near County Road 826.
DPS said Britany Esquivel, 31, of Groves, was walking in the roadway when she was struck by a northbound 2014 Ford pickup.
Esquivel was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Ford driver, Cody Clark, 39, of Buna, was uninjured. He was arrested and taken to the Jasper County jail on a felony intoxication manslaughter charge.
The DPS troopers are investigating the accident.
