Chambers County, TX – One person was killed and two others were injured Friday evening in a head-on collision in Chambers County, according to the police.
The fatal collision happened on October 10 on State Highway 146 near Crystal Boulevard.
Baytown police said officers saw a reckless driver in a BMW traveling at a high rate of speed on the highway near Alexander Drive. When they tried to conduct a traffic stop, the driver refused to stop and continued northbound. Officers lost sight of the vehicle before it entered Chambers County, where the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office took over the chase.
Minutes later, the BMW collided head-on with another vehicle.
The BMW driver was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.
A man and a woman in the other vehicle were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Chambers County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident.
