Dallas, TX – A deputy was seriously injured early Monday morning in a car accident in Dallas, according to officials.
The accident happened around 3:00 a.m. on October 25 on Interstate 35 just north of I-635.
Officials said the Dallas County Sheriff’s deputy was working an accident in the northbound lanes of the freeway when a Ford F-150 hydroplaned on the wet roadways and hit the deputy’s squad car that had a detained person inside it.
The deputy, who was between the car and a bridge railing, was hit. He was thrown off the overpass, and he landed on Harry Hines Boulevard. He was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
The detained person was also taken to the hospital, where they were treated and released.
The Ford driver was not facing any charges.
The authorities are investigating the accident.
