Harris County, TX. – A 5-year-old girl was killed and a woman was injured in a car accident involving a suspected drunk driver on Friday evening in Houston.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened around 8 p.m. on East Mount Houston near Sheridan Road.
A white Nissan SUV was traveling east when it veered into the oncoming traffic lane and collided head-on with a gray Cadillac.
A 5-year-old child died on the way to the hospital.
The girl’s mother was seriously injured but is expected to recover.
The 20-year-old Nissan driver was also taken to the hospital for treatment. Police say he shows signs of intoxication, and charges are pending.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
