A rear passenger in the Highlander was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries

Grimes County, TX. – Two people were killed in a head-on collision that left several people injured early Saturday morning in Grimes County.
According to local police, the accident happened around 12:45 a.m. on SH 249 near FM 1774.
A westbound Ford Escape crossed over the center line and into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with an oncoming Toyota Highlander.
A short time later, a Honda Civic struck the disabled Ford Escape.
The drivers of the Ford Escape and the Toyota Highlander were killed in the accident.
A rear passenger in the Highlander was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
Three children involved in the initial collision were taken to the hospital, where they were treated and released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
