Both Carrillo and Valderrama-Contero were killed in the accident
Grimes County, TX. – Authorities have identified two people who were killed in a head-on collision early Saturday morning in Grimes County.
According to local police, the accident happened on SH 249 near FM 1774 around 12:45 a.m.
31-year-old Wesner Carrillo of Pasco, Washington, was driving a Ford Escape westbound when he crossed over the center line and into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with an oncoming Toyota Highlander operated by 45-year-old Hugo Valderrama-Contero of Spring, Texas.
A short time later, a Honda Civic struck the disabled Ford Escape.
Both Carrillo and Valderrama-Contero were killed in the accident.
A rear passenger in the Highlander was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
Three children involved in the initial collision were taken to the hospital, where they were treated and released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
