Houston, TX – A Bellaire police officer and a woman were injured Wednesday morning in a traffic collision in Houston, according to the police.
The collision happened at about 1:13 a.m. on November 26 at the intersection of Hilcroft Avenue and Willowbend Boulevard.
Police said Bellaire police officers were searching for a suspect’s vehicle when a sedan ran a red light at a high rate of speed and struck an officer’s patrol vehicle.
The officer sustained minor cuts and bruises and was taken to the hospital, where they were treated and released.
The sedan driver, a woman, had to be extricated and was taken to the hospital for treatment. She was taken into custody after showing signs of intoxication at the scene.
The police are investigating the accident.
