The driver of the Mazda was transported to Medical Center Hospital, where she later died

Odessa, TX. – One person died in a car accident that left two others injured on Monday night in Odessa.
According to the Odessa Police Department, the accident happened at the intersection of 42nd Street and Andrews Highway.
A Mazda MPV was traveling northbound on Andrews Highway at a high rate of speed when it ran a red light and struck a blue Ford Mustang that was traveling eastbound on 42nd Street.
The driver of the Mazda was transported to Medical Center Hospital, where she later died.
A 47-year-old passenger in a Mazda was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the Mustang sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital and later released
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
