Cypress, TX – A 29-year-old woman was critically injured on Wednesday after her vehicle was hit by another car that was being pursued by officers in Cypress, according to the deputies.
The collision happened just after 10:00 p.m. on December 17 on Fry Road.
Deputies said a 26-year-old man was driving a white Jeep and was racing other vehicles or driving recklessly. A deputy tried to stop him, but he sped away, and deputies pursued him.
The Jeep then rear-ended another vehicle in the southbound lanes.
The driver of the southbound vehicle was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The Jeep driver sustained minor injuries. He was arrested at the scene and was facing intoxication assault, and felony evading charges. He could face a murder charge if the woman dies.
The authorities are investigating the accident.
