Rockport, TX – A woman was killed Monday evening in a pedestrian accident in Rockport, according to the police.
The deadly accident was reported around 6:30 p.m. on December 22 in the 1300 block of Business State Highway 35 South.
Police said Debbra Gail Daniel, 53, of Rockport, had helped an elderly man cross the highway and was turning back eastbound when she was struck by a northbound 2014 Toyota RAV4 in the inner southbound lane.
Daniel was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Toyota driver, an 81-year-old woman, was not impaired and was taken to Rockport 24/7 ER as a precaution.
The police are investigating the accident. Anyone who witnessed the accident or has any information is asked to call the Rockport Police Department at 361-729-2222.
