The Louisiana man was pronounced dead at the scene

Jasper County, TX. – A 43-year-old man from Louisiana was killed in a three-vehicle crash early Monday morning in Buna.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened around 4:45 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 62 and County Road 784.
The Louisiana man was driving a 2019 Ram pickup truck heading southbound, followed by a 2003 Chevrolet pickup driven by a 38-year-old man, while a Nissan passenger car was heading north.
The Chevrolet driver attempted to pass the Ram pickup truck in a no-passing zone. The Chevrolet driver jerked the steering wheel back to the right when he saw an oncoming Nissan and hit the Ram.
The Ram veered off the highway and hit some trees.
The Nissan veered off the road and also hit a tree.

The Chevrolet driver and his passenger, as well as the Nissan driver, were unhurt in the crash.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
