Harris County, TX – A construction worker was killed, and another was seriously injured Friday night in a pedestrian accident in northeast Harris County, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The deadly accident happened on January 16 in the 3000 block of the Crosby Freeway.
Deputies said a 21-year-old man was driving northbound when he swerved into a construction site and hit two construction workers who were removing pavement lane markings.
Both workers were airlifted to the hospital, where one of them, a 32-year-old, was pronounced dead. The other victim, a 40-year-old, was listed in critical condition.
The driver was not intoxicated at the time of the accident. He remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
The deputies are investigating the accident.
