El Paso, TX – The man who was killed on Friday in a head-on collision in Northeast El Paso has been identified as 31-year-old Arnoldo Vargas, according to the police.
The fatal collision was reported around 9:25 p.m. on January 16 at the intersection of McCombs Street and Sweetwater Drive.
Police said Vargas was driving a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer southbound when he failed to stay in his lane, crossed the median, and collided head-on with a 2009 BMW.
Vargas was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he later died. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
No additional information was available.
The police are investigating the accident.
