Austin, TX – The man who was killed Monday afternoon in a pedestrian accident in Southeast Austin has been identified as 75-year-old Juan Santos Castro, according to the police.
The deadly accident was reported around 2:15 p.m. on February 2 in the 1100 block of Bastrop Highway.
Police said Castro was struck by a vehicle in the northbound lanes of the highway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The involved driver stayed at the scene, was not impaired, and cooperated with the investigators.
The police are investigating the accident. Anyone with any information about the accident is asked to call APD’s Vehicular Homicide Unit at 512-974-8111.
