Aaron Allen Killed, Dale Eldredge and Amanda Duckworth Critically Injured in Carthage Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. Highway 79 

Carthage, Texas (January 6, 2022) – One person was killed, and two others were critically injured in a head-on collision Wednesday morning, roughly two miles west of Carthage, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened around 8:45 a.m., January 5, on U.S. Highway 79.

Authorities said Aaron Allen, 31, of Pineville, Louisiana, was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Corvette westbound on the highway when he passed a car on the two-lane road in heavy fog and crashed head-on into a 2012 Ford F-250.

Allen was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Ford driver, Dale W. Eldredge, 74, of Gary, Texas, and his passenger, Amanda Duckworth, 61, of Gary, were taken to a Henderson hospital in critical condition.

No other details were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
