Man Killed in RodeoHouston Charter Bus Accident at 11100 Almeda Road; Gregory Charles Arrested
Houston, Texas (March 9, 2017) – A 43-year-old man was arrested following a fatal crash involving a RodeoHouston Charter Bus in Houston, according to a Houston PD report.
The accident occurred at about 11:50 p.m. Tuesday, March 7 at the intersection of 11100 Almeda Road and Reed Road killing one person.
According to the report, a Nissan 370Z, driven by a 65-year-old man, was stopped at a red light at the intersection. A RodeoHouston charter bus had a green light and was heading east on Reed Road through the intersection when the Nissan was struck from behind by black Chevrolet Avalanche, driven by Gregory Charles. The impact pushed the Nissan across the intersection where it collided with the charter bus. The Nissan continued through the intersection and hit another shuttle bus.
The Nissan driver was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene.
As per the report, Charles was taken into custody after exhibiting signs of intoxication. He was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital with unspecified injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
