One Killed, Benjamin Meece and Kenneth Salas Injured in Odessa Two-Vehicle Crash on E University Boulevard at Oakwood
Odessa, Texas – One person was killed and two others were injured on Friday in a two-vehicle crash in Odessa, according to the Odessa Police Department.
The fatal crash happened around 9:35 a.m., June 7, in the 4800 block of E University Boulevard at Oakwood.
Police said 37-year-old Benjamin Meece was driving a Dodge Challenger eastbound on University Blvd while a Honda Accord was traveling westbound.
The Honda attempted to turn southbound onto Oakwood and was struck by the Dodge.
Meece fled the scene on foot but was eventually arrested.
The Honda driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meece and the passenger, 34-year-old Kenneth Salas were taken to Medical Center Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A warrant was obtained for Meece in connection to the crash.
The police are investigating the crash.
