Weslaco, Texas (May 16, 2018) – One person was killed in a fatal crash involving two vehicles early Wednesday morning in Weslaco, according to the police.
Emergency crews responded to the accident at around 2 a.m. on Eastbound Expressway 83 near Texas Boulevard.
According to police, Franshely Salinas, 28, of Sullivan City, was driving on the expressway when she drifted onto the shoulder of the roadway and struck a vehicle parked along the side.
A passenger in the parked vehicle was ejected by the impact of the crash. The victim, identified as a 28-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of that vehicle was hospitalized in unknown condition.
Police said Salinas was charged with intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault.

The information for this blog post was obtained from public media and is for informational purposes.  No attorney-client relationship is established unless the law firm is formally retained. We understand this is a difficult time for the family of those affected by a tragic accident, and we offer our sincere sympathies.  While the thought of hiring a law firm may not feel appropriate at this time, as a public service we like to advise that in some cases it may be important to immediately begin securing evidence (such as photos of skid marks and property damage) and witness statements before it’s too late.
