Three Injured in Houston Three-Vehicle Crash on I-10 near Greenhouse Road
Houston, Texas – Three people were injured Sunday night in a three-vehicle crash in Houston, according to the police.
The crash happened around 10:00 p.m., March 24, on the westbound feeder road of the I-10 Katy Freeway near Greenhouse Road.
Police said an officer on patrol spotted a Chevy Bolt that had run out of charge and stalled on the feeder road just before the entrance ramp to the main lanes. The officer, with emergency equipment activated, got behind the stalled vehicle to block traffic while waiting for a wrecker.
A BMW was traveling at highway speeds as the driver exited the freeway just down the street. It struck the officer’s vehicle and the Bolt.
The officer was taken to the hospital after sustaining a gash to the back of his head.
The driver and a passenger in the Bolt were also taken to the hospital for treatment.
The BMW driver remained at the scene, showed no signs of impairment, and cooperated with the investigators.
The police are investigating the crash.
Common Causes of Automobile Accidents
There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality. At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.
