68-Year-Old Woman Killed in Houston Pedestrian Accident on Rebecca Street; Jacolby Pendleton Wanted
Houston, Texas – A 68-year-old woman was killed Thursday evening in a hit-and-run accident in Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.
The deadly accident happened around 8:25 p.m., June 6, in the 3500 block of Rebecca Street.
Police said officers with the Southeast Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team were searching for Jacolby Pendleton, 30, who is a known felony suspect. They saw Pendleton enter a black Nissan Kicks SUV and officers in a marked patrol vehicle tried to conduct a traffic stop, but Pendleton refused to stop and led officers on a short pursuit. When Pendleton turned onto Rebecca Street, he lost control of the Nissan, left the roadway, struck a dumpster, rolled, and struck the 68-year-old woman who was in a walking path in an apartment complex.
Pendleton fled the scene on foot.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.
Authorities are looking for Pendleton who has been charged with murder.
