Alicia Rodriguez ID’d as Woman Killed in McAllen Pedestrian Accident on Business 83 near South Ware Road
McAllen, Texas (October 23, 2018) – The woman who was killed on Wednesday in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident in McAllen has been identified as Alicia Hernandez Rodriguez, according to the authorities.
The deadly accident was reported October 17, in the 4400 block of Business 83, off South Ware Road.
According to a preliminary report, Rodriguez was walking along the roadway, and as she walked past a business parking lot, a tan Ford F-150 turned from the parking lot driveway and ran over her. The Ford then fled the scene after the accident.
Emergency services responded to the scene and took Rodriguez to a local hospital in critical condition where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Isidro Garza, 62, who was believed to be the driver of the involved vehicle, was later questioned by the police who reportedly found marks on his truck consistent with the accident. He told authorities that he thought he had ran over a curb.
Garza faces a manslaughter charge. Other additional charges remain unclear.
The crash remains under investigation.
