Amanda Aguilar Struck, Killed by Vehicle on U.S. 259 in Nacogdoches County

Amanda Aguilar ID’d as Pedestrian Killed in Nacogdoches County Accident on U.S. 259
Nacogdoches County, Texas (December 21, 2018) – The pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle Wednesday night in Nacogdoches County has been identified as Amanda Aguilar, 18, of Nacogdoches, according to Texas Department of Public Safety.
The deadly accident happened shortly after 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 19 on U.S. 259, approximately two and a half miles north of Nacogdoches.
The preliminary crash investigation indicated that Aguilar was walking in the southbound lane on U.S. 259 when she was hit by a Ford pickup that was heading southbound. She was then struck again by a Dodge passenger car.
Aguilar was transported to an area hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Colton Ward, 26, of Garrison, who was the driver of the Ford, was injured in the accident. The operator of the Dodge passenger car was identified as Alyssa Bell, 21, of Nacogdoches.
More information was not immediately available. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
