Wortham, Texas – A woman was killed Wednesday afternoon after a car and a train collided north of Wortham, according to the DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 4:00 p.m., May 15, on CR 1001 near SH 14.

DPS said Angeline Gama, 23, of Wortham, was driving a Honda Pilot eastbound when her SUV was struck by a train while crossing the railroad tracks.

Gama was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two passengers, a 6-year-old and a 3-year-old, were transported to Baylor Scott and White in Waco for possible injuries.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
