1 Person Dies in Austin Bicycle Accident on South Congress Avenue
Austin, TX – One person was killed in a crash involving a bicycle and a vehicle on Wednesday last week in south Austin, according to the Austin Police Department.
The accident happened at about 12:34 a.m. on September 4 in the 5000 block of South Congress Avenue.
According to the police, a pedestrian was riding a bicycle when they were struck by a vehicle. The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim has not been publicly identified pending notification to the next of kin.
The driver and the passenger of the vehicle were not hurt in the incident and remained on the scene.
The deadly incident remains under investigation.
