Dallas, Texas (July 30, 2018) – A 29-year-old bicyclist was killed early Sunday morning in a traffic accident in the Bishop Arts District of Dallas, according to a police report.
The fatal accident occurred at about 1:45 a.m. July 29, at the intersection of West Davis Street and North Tyler Street.
As per the report, a man was riding his bicycle westbound on West Davis Street and ran a stop sign at the intersection. He was then hit by a speeding car which had its headlights turned off.
The bicyclist was transported to Methodist Dallas Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. His name was not immediately disclosed.
The driver of the involved car, Sergio Colunga-Ramirez, 22, was arrested by the police for intoxication manslaughter after he was found under the influence of alcohol.
The Dallas Police Department is investigating the crash.
