Driver Killed in Wise County Crash on US 287

Wise County, TX. – A driver was killed Thursday morning after his vehicle crashed into an overturned 18-wheeler in Wise County, according to Texas DPS.

The accident happened at about 3:50 a.m. on Thursday, June 27 on US 287 near Sunset, authorities said.

Reportedly, an 18-wheeler was traveling southbound on the highway, when for some reason, it overturned, blocking the southbound lanes.

A Ford F-150 could not stop on time and crashed into the overturned trailer.

The driver of the pickup truck sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

No additional details regarding the crash were provided. The incident remains under investigation.
